There is a nice smoky taste to these marinated chicken breasts.
Ingredients
4 Chicken breasts
4 Wheat hamburger buns
1 cups Lettuce, chopped
1/4 cups Mayonnaise
2 Tomatoes, sliced
Marinade:
3/4 cups Water.
2 teaspoons Ketchup.
1 teaspoons Salt.
1/4 teaspoons Liquid smoke.
1/4 teaspoons Ground black pepper.
1/4 teaspoons Oregano.
1/4 teaspoons Onion powder.
1/8 teaspoons Parsley.
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine ingredients listed in the marinade. Add chicken breasts and marinate for 8 hours or overnight.
Preheat grill on high heat. Lower heat to medium-high and grill chicken for 3 - 4 minutes per side or until done. As an alternative to grilling, broil in oven.
Toast hamburger buns face down on the grill or in a pan on your stove top. Spread 1 tablespoon of mayo on the toasted face of top bun. Add 1/4 cup chopped lettuce over the mayo. Layer 2 tomato slices over lettuce. Place a chicken breast on the toasted bottom bun. Flip the top part of the sandwich onto the bottom & enjoy!
