Yes you can! Ever since I tried making my own taco seasoning, I haven't gone back! The store packets are overpriced - especially once you realize every spice you need is probably already in your cupboard.
I store my mix in 1/2 cup size Gladware containers.
Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons Dried minced onion
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1 teaspoons Chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoons Cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoons Crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoons Paprika
- 1/2 teaspoons Garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoons Ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoons Oregano
|
Instructions:
In a 1/2 cup size gladware container, combine all spices. Cover and shake to mix.
Add to browned ground beef just as you would store-bought taco seasoning packets. Add 1/4 - 1/2 cup water to meat, stir and let simmer until sauce thickens. |
